POWERPOINT:

Tips for an Effective Slideshow:

  • Have your own paper notes or queue cards to help you to remember your speech - don't read off the projector or netbook screen.
  • Use minimal text on slides.
    • Titles and keywords are OK, whole sentences are usually not.
    • Use a font size that can be easily read from anywhere in the room.
  • Use pictures, charts, images, videos and audio that really enhance your presentation.
  • Colour and animation can be used to emphasise important points. Use them sparingly.
  • Make your presentation aesthetically pleasing. Use a clear and consistent design features (colour, font, effects, slide design).
